The 6:42 PM Train

Name: Luca, 26 Location: Milan – Bergamo
My story:
I take that train after work all the time. It's always the same: same people, same seats.
That day I sat down across from a girl I'd never seen before.
At first, nothing. Then I looked up — and she was looking at me.
I looked away. Then looked again. She was still there.
We started catching each other's eyes, almost without realizing it. At some point we both smiled.
It felt natural. Not forced at all.
We got off at the same stop. I was sure I was going to say something.
But the moment we stepped off:
she went one way
I went the other.
And I did nothing.
How did it end?
The next day I took the same train. Then the day after.
I never saw her again.
Maybe she was doing the same thing.
